Tips For the Day Before Your Wedding

Do not drink alcohol. Yes, I said it. Or at least, if you are going to drink, go very very light! Alcohol makes us ladies retain water, which will not only make us bloated for the next day, but it also can produce uneven pigment in the skin, which can result in more makeup and touchups throughout the day. It also leads to bigger pours, as we excrete the access alcohol through our skin.

Steam your wedding dress and hang it up outside of the bag, so that the layers can acclimate to the air and humidity conditions of your environment. If you find that your wedding dress has a lot of static, try small amounts of hair spray or drier sheets to reduce the friction.

Do not eat salty foods — for the same reasons listed in the “no alcohol” category — salt makes us bloat. Enough said :)

Take some time to be by yourself and simply relax. Whether it is meditation, yoga, or simply listening to good music, taking a beat from the rush of last minute wedding plans can help relieve any tension or stress, and gather your thoughts.
Sleep, sleep, and more sleep. It is so hard to sleep the night before your wedding (hundreds of things are usually running through your head at this point) but sleep is so important to help you remain relaxed and energetic for the entire day.

Tips For Getting Ready on Your Wedding Day

Have a great playlist planned for you and your girls — this will help keep up the good, positive energy and make the atmosphere lively for all of those involved. Waiting hours for your hair and makeup can get long, so having memorable music that you all can dance and bond over helps the time pass harmoniously.

Have brunch catered to you. Food is important, especially since you all will be standing for long amounts of time with little access to water. And most likely, you will have more alcohol than water by the time you reach the reception so having a nice layer of food in your stomach will not only help with nerves, but it will soften the blow of the drinks on the party bus :)

Plan to have you (the bride) go last to get your hair and makeup done. This will ensure you looking fresh and energetic for the duration of the day.

Have your bridesmaids get fully dressed and ready to go, at least 30-45 minutes before your depart for the ceremony or your First Look. This will ensure that by the time you get in your wedding gown, they will all look cohesive and beautiful for these parts of your pictures.

One of the most popular wedding trends is purchasing matching robes for your bridesmaids and yourself — if you choose to do this, have everyone wearing them before your photographer arrives so that we can get these adorable pictures of you guys together, laughing and drinking your mimosas, before your girls change into their dresses.

Items to Have Ready for Your Photographer

A wooden hanger for your wedding dress and preferably, for your bridesmaids as well

Your wedding invitation

Your shoes

Your Jewelry - bracelets, necklaces, earrings, hair pieces, etc.

Your Accessories - garter, handkerchiefs, clutch, etc. Make sure to mention to the photographer if you have any family heirlooms or items you want photographed as well

Your bouquet — your florist should deliver these before the photographer arrives

Following these simple steps will help the getting ready process of your wedding day run smoothly and be stress-free. It will also help your photographer move more quickly, so we can spend time capturing those candid images instead of hunting down your details :)
