Laughter is truly the ingredients for love, and this couldn’t be more true than with Jennie and Artie. Constantly joking, laughing and engaging each other, it is clear to me as we spent a few hours together for their engagement session, that these two are compatible in in every way. Their personalities compliment each other – Jennie with her classic beauty and Artie with his strength and stability. We spent the afternoon touring Glen Arbor, rejoicing in a few moments of sun before ending on the dunes of Lake Michigan. So much love to you guys!

Natural laughter is the key to great engagement photos – and Jennie and Artie had this in spades! Being able to relax and enjoy these few hours together helps capture your personalities in an authentic form, and leaves you laughing and loving your engagement images even more!

A simple kiss can speak a thousand words. The joy as the bride’s face lights up is priceless, and always one of my favorite engagement photography moments that I love to capture. It speaks volumes about your character and what defines your relationship, and how much you two truly enjoy each other’s company!

And of course, finding the perfect light during your engagement shoot is key to beautiful photos. We searched the winter landscape for the quick moments of sunlight streaming through the pine trees, for some beautiful backlit engagement images. It creates a beautiful golden haze around my bride and groom, and highlights this beautiful landscape in northern Michigan – despite the cold winter months!

And of course, who could rock these red heels for her winter engagement session better than Jennie? Walking through the snow, hand-in-hand with Artie showed off her gorgeous outfit and perfect posing ideas that really accented their images.

By the time that we reached the rustic historical D.H.Day Barn in Glen Arbor, the blue sky was already shining! We were able to sit on the ground – despite the cold snow-and snuggle in for some fun images that produced lots of laughter and beautiful images in the field grass at the barn.

Posing at this rustic barn was easy – how could a view like this not be beautiful??

Despite the fact that it was freezing for their winter engagement session, Jennie and Artie made the best of it, cuddling and braving the winter chill to achieve these gorgeous portraits next to this rustic barn. The white of the barn contrasted beautifully against their blue outfit choice!

Taking a small break from the winter wind, we hunkered down to a smaller area in northern Michigan, finding this gorgeous red barn in the Sleeping Bear Dunes that has been preserved for over 100 years.

Jennie and Artie were masters at posing for their engagement images!

Visiting this pine tree forest was a dream of mine for Jennie and Artie’s engagement session. It produces beautiful ideas for their winter engagement photos, and adds in a pop of color despite the snow piling up around them.

And of course being in northern Michigan, we could not resist going to the beaches of Lake Michigan for some sunset pictures for their engagement session. Although the sun never popped out behind those clouds, it lit up the sky with brilliant blue and purple clouds that were the perfect landscape for Jennie and Artie.
