You’ve picked your dress to fit your style, now help your gown along, by choosing a hairdo that compliments your favorite features of your dress.

Does your dress have an open back? Consider an up-do! One of the best assets of an open-backed dress is that it elongates your figure, creates a sexy curve to your body, and also thins out the waist. Don’t clutter this look by wearing your hair past your shoulders and hide your flattering figure.

Wearing a dress with sleeves? Find a flowing, loose hairstyle that can flow over the shoulders in sexy waves or curls. This can help create the illusion of movement and elongate your body, since the neck and shoulders are being subtly covered.

YOUR ACTION PLAN:

• Highlight your favorite assets of your dress
• Search pinterest of wedding blogs with a similar style and study the bride’s hair
• Discuss your decisions with your hair stylist and practice before the big day

I know, this one can be tough and (let’s be honest) a little nerve-racking. No one likes to pose in front of the camera, especially on such an important day. Luckily, I’ve put together a few steps for you to follow, to feel natural and confident in front of the camera!

  1. Drop your shoulders and elongate your neck. This will lengthen the look of your body, making you look leaner and thinner (and give you better posture)
  2. Turn your head in either direction, approximately 20 degrees, and look up. This will put light into your eyes, accent your lashes and facial bone structure, and create a natural “Hollywood Glamour” pose!
  3. Turn your back to the camera, keep your hips facing back, but use your shoulder to rotate back towards the camera. This is give you beautiful curves and show off that gorgeous dress!

Ever start wringing your hands, wondering what in the world you are supposed to do with them? I do it all the time (nasty habit.) But you can easily occupy your hands with beautiful flowers and decor, and look great while doing so! Get the 3 gorgeous looks below for your wedding pictures!

  1. Bouquet Details: Roll your shoulders back, and drop your hands so that they sit on your hips, while holding the center of your bouquet out towards the camera. This will give you stunning pictures of your bodice and jewelry, as well as your bouquet.
  2. The Twist & Turn: Turn your back towards the camera, put your bouquet in one hand, and rotate your torso towards the flowers, using the bouquet as a “weight anchor.” This will twist your curves and accent your beautiful body!
  3. The Side Profile: You can achieve this in a number of ways, but my favorite is to grasp your flowers behind you with both hands, face away from the camera, but turn your face to the side and up. Your elegant facial features will light up the camera, showing off your chair, and beautiful body!

Investing in a form fitting corset or bodice is a blessing in disguise. Most of us think of our typical “wedding night” as our new hubbies taking off our wedding dress and seeing the gorgeous bridal lingerie beneath it. But I am here to tell you (very secretly of course) that I almost never have a bride who wears true lingerie during the day. And this is simply because they value feeling great throughout the entire day, and choosing a silhouetting support system that will help them look wonderful in all of their wedding photos. It will also help you be more flexible as you sit down, dance, eat etc throughout the day.

Belts and sashes are a great detail to add to your wedding accessory list. Not only are they fun, but they can also accent the hips with a little flare, and take away attention from some of the areas, that you aren’t as comfortable with flaunting. Great places to buy wedding belts? Try out Etsy! Some of the cutest DIY wedding jewelry comes from this site, and they can work with specific measurements to best fit your size and style!
