When I first met Emily, I knew that she and Brendan were the perfect match. Both completely laid back, relaxed, and simply excited for their big day together – they went about getting ready with huge smiles on their faces, anticipating their First Look! Emily was able to bring in her style and flare throughout her entire wedding – including wearing rat face shoes for her accessories! And Brendan was all smiles as he watched her walk down the aisle towards him, preparing to become husband and wife. Both had put in large amount of work into designing their day, creating DIY photo booths, DJ playlists, gift boxes, and their centerpieces at their reception. And their cake was simply to die for! Crystal Mountain was the perfect resort to include all of their destination wedding guests, and made for the perfect winter wedding! And to top it all off, they were able to have a Leap Day wedding, saying their vows on February 29th – a completely original and unique idea! SO much love to you both Emily and Brendan!

The bride getting ready is one of my favorite moments of the day! The excitement is brewing, all your bridesmaids are anticipating walking down the aisle, with you following directly behind. And for the first time, you and your soul mate will become husband and wife. The plethora of emotion creates for truly authentic and candid emotions within your wedding photography.

The bride saying goodbye to her parents as she walks down the aisle is a very emotional moment of the day. It is right before her fiance first takes her hand as his wife. This beautiful ceremony was full of smiles and joy, and the sunlight streaming through the windows accented their beautiful winter wedding!

The first kiss of bride and groom!!! I love this moment throughout the wedding day – and Emily and Brendan truly showcased their adoration for each other as they became husband and wife!

Winter weddings are absolutely stunning! It creates beautiful golden light for the pictures of the bride and groom. Crystal Mountain is the perfect location for a winter wedding in northern Michigan, and Emily and Brendan truly enjoyed each moment of their day! Despite the cold weather, we were able to step outside into the snow and pine tree forest for some gorgeous portraits!

I loved Emily’s green bouquet, that contrasted wonderfully with her vintage fur coat to keep her warm on her winter wedding!

And although we loved going outside for their bride and groom portraits, we did have to step inside away from the cold, for some warm-up time and the remainder of the bridal party portraits.

Emily and Brendan put a lot of work into their reception. They DIY’d their entire reception hall at Crystal Mountain, making their own photo booth, gift boxes and table, and centerpiece decor. They even had their custom made jars for each of their guests!

Once the formalities were finished, we moved into the dancing and the party truly began! Emily was all smiles, and Brendan swirled her around the dance floor! They even had a unique dance for groom and mother, as well as for Emily and her dad!
