I consider Castle Farms-the premiere wedding venue in Charlevoix MI-our diamond in the rough destination wedding location in Northern Michigan. Who has ever heard of a legit, stunning castle grounds in the lower peninsula of Michigan? Not I but I tell you brides and grooms, Castle Farms puts on a gorgeous one-of-a-kind wedding, from the getting ready shots, to the ceremony, and the reception events into the night. The landscape around the grounds is vast, and offers various types of styles for all portraits including the wedding party, and romantically enhanced bride and groom photos as well! Ana & John started off their late summer wedding in Traverse City, where I met up with the bride and her bridesmaids for those gorgeous hair, makeup, and detail shots. The atmosphere was light and hearty and I knew that today was going to be amazing, and I wasn’t mistaken! When Ana put her dress on, the tears began, but not as much as when she first saw John, dressed up in his grey and green tux out on the shores of Lake Michigan. Their dear aunt and uncle even lent their yacht in the Traverse City harbors to accommodate the eager wedding party. And then my favorite part- the trip to Charlevoix and their ceremony and reception location at Castle Farms-who impeccably decorated each crevice of their stone and brick castle buildings with delicate care, florals, lights, vases, and wine bottles!
