It’s not often that you get to know someone from the moment they enter this world. But that’s our story. And when that girl turns out to be a lifelong friend?? You know that our bond runs deep!! So when I go out on a limb and say, that photographing my girl Ashley Hudak destination wedding at Chico Hot Springs, Montana with her best friend Joe Kruger was the highlight of my year, you know that I speak the truth!!! Montana holds a special place in Ashley’s heart, and she shared her love with the rest of us. She and Joe stood beneath the aqua & blue mountaintops, the whispering winds blowing through the prairie grasses, their vows echoing in the hearts of all. I’ll never forget this moment for the rest of our days!! Love you Ash, I couldn’t ask for a better day or a better lifelong friend!!

We started out the day rising up to the glorious sunrise to popped over the top of the mountain peak. The girls started their hair and makeup early, while friends and family helped decorate the rustic themed reception hall at the base of the resort. Ashley was THE perfect bride – calm, relaxed, laughing up a storm – everything I LOVE about this woman!!

There was no moment sweeter (and one of my personal favs of the day) than when Ashley lifted her gown, settled her cathedral veil, and waltzed towards her dad Kipper for their first look. The look on her dad’s face said it all, and in true form, I couldn’t help but get emotional myself, knowing how much this moment meant to their family.

But the precious, tear-jerking moments didn’t end there. Ashley and Joe had their first look on top of the mountain, which overlooked their reception hall. We had time for a few glorious portraits before heading to the gazebo for their ceremony! And (I know that I’m biased here) but Joe’s vows to Ashley sincerely took my breath away. He painted a picture of their life together, and he appreciated the small things that he loved about their story! I heard more than a few sniffles in the crowd behind me!

And although I tried my best not to get choked up, it was harder than I thought, as I watched their first kiss as husband and wife!!! And as a surprise to all of their guests, Ashley and Joe departed hand-in-hand, upon a stunning vintage carriage atop two white horses, so they could celebrate, have a toast of champagne, and enjoy a few moments as husband and wife!!

The reception was unlike any other – but with the Hudak family, I knew that the fun would run unbounded! It was filled with high kicks (here’s looking at you Noelle), polish toasts, line dancing, and some serious dance moves!

Thank you, Ashley & Joe, for the opportunity to be apart of your destination wedding day! I couldn’t ask for better friends or a better celebration!!!
