Oupa!! Has anyone here ever been to a Greek wedding before?? Well, now I can say that I have and let me be the first to tell you, they are the coolest weddings ever!!!! I seriously, wish I was Greek, just so that I can have those inherently AWESOME dance skills, my friends!!! Laura and Nick’s intimate destination wedding took place at the rustic lodge of Camp Firefly at the Homestead, situation amongst the golf course (Nick’s fav) and the whispering hills of northern Michigan. From the moment we arrived, I felt in awe of this impressive family. We immediately felt as if we had been friends for years, as we received hug after hug, deep conversations, roaring laughter, and a simple feeling that everyone here was so loved and appreciated. Laura & Nick took an event like a wedding….and made it an everlasting memory that I will truly never forget!!! The best moment, by far, was the moment they reviewed their vows for the ceremony. You see, it had been wicked hot all day (a rarity here in northern Michigan.) We had all been sweating in the sun like crazy. But one of the coolest things about having a wedding so close to Lake Michigan, is that you will never know what weather it will bring you. So as the vows began to take place, the wind picked up and swirled the fallen fall leaves around the couple at the altar, the ominous clouds rolled in like storm waves…and you just got this feeling that Michigan herself, was blessing this union. And of course, I can’t ignore the dancing talent that seemed to run in both families, as they introduced Greek dancing into their reception, which was for me, a whole heck of fun!!!!! To Laura & Nick: Thank you!!! Seriously, for everything!!! You made this day a memory that I will cherish forever. I feel so blessed to be with you, to have met you, and to call you guys my long lost Greek friends!!!!!!!
