Torch lake MI is famous for the gorgeous emerald waters, ethereal destination wedding photography locations, and hopping sand bars-but my first experience to this Northern Michigan inland was for Sarah and Jason’s gorgeous wedding, during the hot months of July. I might be a bit biased here, but considering both the bride and groom and I are originally from MN, I was more than excited to finally meet these two Minnesooootans eh! I couldn’t have been more ecstatic than when I arrived at the quaint cottage directly on Torch Lake and realized that this would be the perfect location for amazing beach shots and beautiful bridal party imagery. And despite the rapidly building heat, this bridal party was here to have fun in their five inch heels, elegant strands of pearls, and ruffled bridal gowns! After the getting ready shots, we gathered around a park in Torch lake, overlooking a small beach right off of town. Casual, light, and fun…Sarah and Jason exchanged vows amongst close family and friends-and their dog of course-to numerous cheers and claps as their lips and promises were sealed. My beautiful bride and groom were all smiles as they were dragged around by their wedding photographer (ok, I have to admit to this part…sarcasm included) in the 96 degree heat, walking across the sand beaches, climbing on metal trains, and sin of all sins, stripping them of their socks and shoes to drag their wedding gear into the water for that final, romantic kiss in the shores of Torch Lake. But as I prayed for their forgiveness from the water and sand in their shoes, it was off to the reception venue at the Eagles Club in Gaylord MI, elegantly decorated in Sarah’s chosen colors of teal and turquoise. Thank you so much Sarah and Jason, for including me on your destination wedding in Torch lake, MI-what a blast and coincidence, that we met two states away from a common home, and instantly clicked and had fun at that! So much love to you both for the rest of the summer, and the many years ahead!
