So. Let’s be honest here. This wedding had some extremely high highs…but on the flip side, an incredibly sad moment for me as well. You see, when I first met my Lux Light Bride Jami, I knew that she was a Godsend…no seriously guys, if you want to meet a woman that could be your best friend, your hero and your inspiration all rolled up into one gorgeous lady, Jami would be it!! And Derrick, every time he spoke, his dry sense of humor filled the room! So after we met for their engagement session (in which I fell in love with this couple) they let me know that they had a puppy. Yes, a puppy!!!! I was so excited because hey, who doesn’t love puppies and weddings all wrapped into one adorable bundle?? So I proceeded to try my HARDEST to convince them to bring their adorable pup to their special day at the Inn at Bay harbor. So this is where the sadness comes in, no puppy that day…BUT their wedding day both started and ended in the best moments, the best people, and the coolest couple I have yet to meet!!!!
The beach was such an important feature for Jami and Derrick. Being both adventurous, they knew that their destination wedding in northern Michigan had to be simple yet elegant, and bring in the tranquil blues that they love about Lake Michigan! This vision truly came to life with the dream team, Fox & Fern Events who took Jami’s navy and gold vision, and truly help their tented reception on the lawn of the harbor, come to life!!

By far, my favorite moment of the day was turning away from the ceremony aisle, and sneaking a peek at Derrick as he watched Jami walk towards him. It was her last steps before she became his wife, and these few seconds were precious. Simple. Timeless. But a moment that I will NEVER FORGET!!!! To Jami & Derrick, thank you for inviting me into your lives. You welcomed me with open arms, made me feel loved ad valued, and inspired me to become more adventurous in my marriage as well! Truly, you have been a blessing in my life!!!
