Gorgeous Rustic Woodland Wedding

OK so let me first start out by saying that my beautiful bride, Tia, and her now-hubby Lucas are the BEST of the BEST? Why might you ask? Only because A. Tia loves dogs as much as I do, B. Upon arrival they greeted me with cookies and a bag of Doritos (my very very favorite) and C. Tia is the happiest person I have ever met. No, like literally, the-happiest-person-on-the-planet! Every moment during this sprint-filled, lilac inspired wedding was filled with laughter, big laughs, and cookies…OK fine, I ate all the cookies, but still! Hands down, this May wedding in northern Michigan was FUN!

We started off the day nestled in a quaint cabin, quietly hidden amongst the wooded areas of her venue. Which, by the way, was selected because this very area was THE place that Tia and Lucas first met! Hair and makeup was coming together, lilac bouquets were being bustled, and Tia was aglow!

And when it was time for the First Look, I actually had butterflies in my stomach, because I knew how much this meant to Tia and Lucas! And man, this single moment did not disappoint! Lucas’s face lit up the moment he turned around and saw his bride! Tia was bathed in sunlight streaming through the quiet pines, her crown and princess ball gown sparkling. Her blue eyes (gotta love those baby blues!) glowed just for her groom. And every previous moment was sublime!

It was too hard not to love every moment of this day! Because from the moment that the First Look happened, and Tia and Lucas were together, the day progressed from wonderful to AMAZING! Their ceremony took place by a babbling brook, that meandered around the venue in silent, trickling beauty. And once vows were spoken and rings were exchanged, these two amazing souls became one, as Tia and Lucas became married!!!

The reception was just as magical. When you mix killer dance moves (I definitely saw the sprinkler and lawn mower moves) and two fun families, this party was more than just a celebration – it was a memory I’ll never forget!

To Tia and Lucas – thank you for inviting me out to your wedding, to celebrate with you, and to share in the best day of your life!! I laughed, I cried, and more importantly, I bore witness to the day that two loving souls joined together forever. You have started a legacy, one I will never forget, and I cannot wait to see where you lives take you!
