One of my favorite places to shoot wedding photography in Traverse City, Michigan is the local vineyards. They are one of the most desirable locations, both for the wedding aesthetics, the gorgeous view of the bride and groom amongst the shores of Lake Michigan, and of course, the delicious grape and cherry wine that is so famous for this Northern Michigan region. Basically stated, photographing vineyard weddings gets me more than a little bit excited. So it was with eager anticipation that I waited all summer to shoot Maureen and Chris’s wedding and let me be the first to say, it more than fulfilled my wedding wishes! Starting out the day in a quaint little church on the bay of lake Michigan, this local Traverse City couple exchanged vows amongst bubble blowing, flying flowers, and of course the occasional rain shore (note the ominous clouds lurking on the horizon of Lake Michigan). But we were all smiles on this day when the clouds parted and we were able to explore Chateau Chantal vineyard off the shores of the peninsula. Here, I got to spend a little bit more personal time with my bride and groom and we snuck into the rows of grapes, tasted wine, and played in the vines. Then we were on to our reception, which reqarded our anticipation with a glorious view of the lake down by the harbor, and delicious catering! Thanks Maureen and Chris for an amazing day!
